On the recommendation of 2nd central pay commission in 1962, to provide a common education with common syllabus & curriculum to the children of transferable central govt. employees including Defence personnel, the Ministry of Education, Govt. of India, took over 20 regimental schools run by Defence establishments and converted into central schools in 1963. Later theses central schools were rechristened as Kendriya Vidyalaya and as on today 1041 Kendriya Vidyalaya through the breath & length of our country meet the needs of a common...
